MADISON, Wis. -- Governor Tony Evers, along with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, announced Thursday more than $177 million in additional funding will go to Surface Transportation Program projects across Wisconsin.

The governor and WisDOT said $200 million will be used in federal STP funding for more than 150 local road and bridge improvement projects, dedicated to improving local bridges, rural roads, and roadways statewide. Evers said the funding will give more communities across Wisconsin access to the safe, reliable highways they need and create good-paying jobs.

To date, the Evers administration said it has improved more than 7,400 miles of roads, including more than 3,700 miles of locally owned roads and 1,780 bridges since 2019. Through the new funding from the BIL, WisDOT will work with local cities to enhance multiple high-traffic roadways statewide.

A full county-by-county list of projects receiving funding through the STP and Local Bridge programs, including the previously announced 150 projects, is available here .
