Man dies from injuries in fatal motorcycle-truck crash

POTOSI, Wis. -- The Grant County Coroners Office notified the Grant County Sheriff's Office Saturday that Cameron Schaefer, 22, of Dickeyville, died from the injuries he sustained in a fatal crash on Aug. 18.

On Aug. 18, the Sheriff's Office said it was notified of a two-vehicle crash with serious injuries on Hwy 61 at the intersection with County B. The preliminary investigation shows Schaefer was traveling southbound on his motorcycle with passenger Jadyn Noonan, 23, of Dickeyville, when a truck driven by Gavin L. Fishnick, 17, of Barneveld failed to yield from the stop sign. Neither motorcycle riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The Sheriff's Office said the motorcycle collided with the truck, Schaefer and Noonan were ejected from the vehicle, and both sustained serious injuries. While Noonan remains in critical condition, Schaefer was pronounced dead on Saturday, Aug. 24 as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash. No injuries were reported by Fishnick or his juvenile passenger.
