PLANNING THE NE X T 24 HOURS: It is still going to be dangerously hot and humid into this evening. Be sure to continue to take proper precautions with the heat. A chance of a few severe storms also remains in the forecast through this evening, especially for areas near Madison and south and east. Large hail and strong winds would be the main threats. Patchy fog is also expected Tuesday night. Cooler weather with clearing skies are in the forecast for Wednesday, with highs in the lower 80s.

EXTENDED FORECA ST : The humidity will return with a weather system later Wednesday, lasting through Thursday night bringing the next potential for showers and thunderstorms, with the best chance for rain Thursday night. Labor Day Weekend is looking dry and seasonably warm. On Labor Day, Monday, temperatures will fall slightly below normal, into the lower to mid 70s. Early next week, some areas may see overnight temperatures falling into the upper 40s!
