    We Energies foundation awards $100,000 to first responders

    MADISON, Wis. -- We Energies continued its work of helping first responders.

    The We Energies Foundation awarded $100,000 in Rewarding Responders Grants to help public safety agencies across Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan purchase lifesaving equipment.

    "We are honored to support the brave individuals who work tirelessly to keep our neighborhoods safe, secure and welcoming," said Beth Straka president.

    We Energies Foundation has awarded more than $400,000 since 2020 to help police, fire and emergency medical services agencies and strengthen public safety in their communities.

    Here are the 2024 grant recipients

    • Belleville Area EMS-guardian angel safety lights
    • Belleville Volunteer Firefighters-automated external defibrillator
    • Briggsville Volunteer Fire Department-fire nozzle experiment
    • Clinton Fire Protection District-gas detector
    • Fall River Fire Department-gas detector
    • Marshall Volunteer Fire Department-scene lighting
    • Muscoda EMS-training manikins
    • Richland Center Fire Department-gas detector
    • Westfield Fire Department-gas detector
