Dane County Board to hold public hearings for 2025 budget

MADISON, Wis. -- Dane County residents will make their voices heard with two public hearings occurring next week.

The hearings will be held on Sept 11 and Sept 12 at 6:00 pm with half of the departments presenting their budget requests at one meeting, and the other half at the other meeting. The hearing is held annually prior to the county executive releasing their proposed budget.

Residents will have the option to speak both virtually and in person. Information to connect virtually will be available on top of the agendas, which will be posted Friday prior to the hearing date and is available here .

Members of the public attending virtually are required to register by 5:30 p.m., 30 minutes before the meeting starts. Those attending the meeting in person are encouraged to register 30 minutes in advance, however registration will be available at the meeting as well.

• Public Protection and Judiciary Committee
• Emergency management

• Family court services
• Pretrial services
• Office of Justice Reform

Personnel & Finance Committee

• County treasurer
• Library
• Department of Administration
• Public Health Madison and Dane County
• Environment, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Committee
• University extension
• Land and water resources (including parks)
