In The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey states, “The essence of synergy is to value differences-to respect them, to build on strengths, to compensate for weaknesses.” In other words, the sum of leadership created by dynamic teams is greater than the sum of its parts. Looking forward to the 20242025 school year, Chapel Hill ISD is creating dynamic duos within the district by pairing teams to harness this synergy at both the high school and elementary campus.

Chapel Hill High School will continue to work and learn under the leadership of Principal Matt Dunn. As an educator with twenty years of experience, a member of this community, and a Titus County alumni, Dunn has the experience and vision to continue to elevate student learning opportunities at Chapel Hill High School. “We have been exploring and creating some innovative ideas for student engagement at Chapel Hill. I am excited to see how we are positively impacting students,” said Dunn.

Current Elementary Principal Misty Lake says that she “will be moving from an awesome elementary team,” which she led for 7 years, as she transitions to serve as the high school campus associate principal. When asked what the move to the high school campus means to her, Mrs. Lake states, “ It means that I’ll have the chance to shape the school’s future and support students in a whole new way. My hope is that my dedication and passion will make a real difference.” When describing her approach to teaching students, Lake mentions a quote from Aristotle, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”

Chapel Hill Elementary will have some friendly familiar faces in new leadership positions.

After a year as the elementary assistant, Adrian Bolin will be assuming the position of Chapel Hill Elementary Principal. With an extensive background in elementary education and supporting teachers for 26 years, Bolin refers to a Japanese proverb as it exemplifies her professional philosophy. “All of us are smarter than one of us.” She adds, “We are better together! Collaboration is KEY!”

Telly Hall will be joining Bolin at the Elementary as the other half of the dynamic duo. Since 2007, Hall has been a part of the Chapel Hill family. “I am excited about the opportunity to serve the students and staff at Chapel Hill Elementary. It is my hope we can continue to grow tomorrow’s leaders,” says Hall.

“To simply say I am excited for the future of Chapel Hill would be understating what these teams are capable of accomplishing,” says Chapel Hill Superintendent Daniel Pritchett. “These new teams will be able to ‘stretch’ one another through their dialogue , ideation, and leadership styles.” Although the educational tapestry of Chapel Hill is interwoven with success, the future endeavors of these campus leaders, without a doubt, has the potential to redefine what Red Devils’ success really means through a synergistic leadership approach.
