TWO ACCIDENTS AMONG FOUR CALLS THURSDAY FOR BRENHAM DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department was called out to a pair of accidents on Thursday. Shortly before 11:45 a.m., the department was dispatched to Highway 290 East and Blue Bell Road for a transportation incident. Units arrived on location to find a two-vehicle accident. After checking for injuries and fluids, they determined no one was hurt and no fluids were leaking. The department returned to service after the vehicles were moved from the highway.
WARRANT ARREST MADE ON HOUSTON MAN
A Houston man had a warrant arrest made on him Thursday. Brenham Police report that Thursday afternoon at 2:15, Officer Tina Bruno and Detective Andrea Guerra met with Don Lester Franklin, 59 of Houston, at the Brenham Police Department and placed him under arrest for two outstanding warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The warrants were issued stemming from an incident that took place in the 200 block of Riggs Street on June 15th. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a male subject, later identified as being Mr. Franklin, pointing a handgun at two people. No one was injured at the time of the incident.
