    Charles

    Make your own puffy paint will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Waldorf West branch. Make awesome 3D paintings. Registration required.

    Saturday Morning book discussion will be held virtually 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 27. This month’s title is “Educated" by Tara Westover. Registration required.

    Imagination Time will be held 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 27, at the P.D. Brown Memorial branch.

    Morning Story Time will be held 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, at the Waldorf West branch. Share the fun of reading with your children.

    Books! The Magic is Real with Joe Romano will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, June 29, at the Waldorf West branch. Magic featuring popular children’s books.

    Happy Hour crochet and knitting will be held online and in person 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 29, at the Potomac branch. Registration required for virtual attendance.

    Healthy Finances: Credit 101 will be held 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 29, at the P.D. Brown Memorial branch. Cedar Point Federal Credit Union will discuss what credit is, how to build and maintain healthy credit, and what to do once it’s been obtained.

    The Mobile Library will be at the Waldorf Senior Center 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at 90 Post Office Road in Waldorf. Pop-Up Library services include Wi-Fi access, public computer access, copying & printing, library card services, crafts to go, 500 by 5 starter kits, and materials for check out.

    St. Mary’s

    Landscaping for Cleaner Waterways will be held 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the Charlotte Hall branch. University of Maryland Extension Watershed Restoration Educator Caroline DiGiovanni will discuss landscaping for stormwater management, landscaping including stone pathways, gutter downspouts and yard topography. Attendees will be entered into a raffle for a free rain barrel. Registration required.

    A behind-the-scenes library tour will be held 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at the Leonardtown branch. Learn how the library gets its books, spend time in the computer for an overview of key virtual services, and see a demo of the Makerspacer equipment. Registration required.

    Biodiversity and Native Gardening 101 will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Charlotte Hall branch. Unearth the secrets of gardening with the program, which is perfect for beginners. Registration required.

    Meet the Artist Ayanna Proctor: Èlikhatink (In the Village) - New art installation and reception will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Leonardtown branch. Piscataway artist Ayanna Proctor will discuss her new installation, which represents life in the village. Proctor is an enrolled tribal citizen of the Piscataway Nation (Turtle Clan). Her inspiration is continuously derived from her Eastern Woodland heritage, rewilding and time spent in New England winters and the Shenandoah Valley. A hands-on display of cultural items will be available and a question period will follow. Registration required.

    On Pins & Needles will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Twin Beaches and Prince Frederick branches. Bring a quilting, needlework, knitting, crocheting or other project.

    Warhammer 40K will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Prince Frederick branch. Learn about the popular miniature strategy tabletop game. Registration required if playing, and not watching.

    Bad Art Night: Poor-traits will be held 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Prince Frederick branch. Explore art in all its forms. Materials provided. All art will have the opportunity to be displayed in the Teen Zone after the event.. For ages 10 to 18.

    Summer STEAM will be held 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 29, at the Prince Frederick branch; 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Twin Beaches branch; and 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the Southern branch. Explore biomes through books and activities. For grades K to 5.

    Learn What You Love: Career Direction will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Prince Frederick branch. Career Advisor and Corporate Trainer Nikki Phillips will discuss skills, strengths and values as they pertain to career choices to help decide a career pathway that fits.

    Reading Buddies will be held 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the Prince Frederick branch; and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the Southern branch. Elementary-aged children will do activities and read to teen volunteers, who can earn a service learning hour.
