Atlanta restaurant reveals opening date for downtown Charleston location

A popular Atlanta restaurant has announced the opening date for its downtown Charleston location.

The Select will open July 5 at 465 Meeting St., at the base of Greystar’s corporate headquarters building.

The Select will focus on sophistication and charm, a news release stated. Diners can expect upscale decor and live music at the location.

“We couldn’t be happier to finally open our doors and welcome the Charleston community,” said owner Dave Green in the release.

The Select’s menu infuses New American cuisine with the traditional flavors of the Lowcountry, according to the release. Menus include small plates like The Select’s well-known French onion soup and lobster Arancini, as well as larger entrees like miso tilefish and steak frites.

The restaurant was inspired by Paris’ famed Le Select, the chic 1920’s brasserie known for being a free-spirited meeting place where artists and literary figures such as Hemmingway, Fitzgerald, Chagall, Picasso and Gertrude Stein who were looking for a safe haven for their progressive intellectual discussions, gathered, according to its website.
