A longstanding comfort food eatery with Arizona roots is relocating to Landrum .

Recent social media updates from Rhema Soul Cuisine hint at an upcoming opening at 212 E Rutherford St . Owners Ronald and Via Childs have yet to respond to inquiries from What Now Charleston , leaving details sparse at this time.

Since its Arizona inception in 2013, the Childs have opened three different Rhema locations before transitioning to a rolling restaurant/food trailer. The duo relocated to Tryon, North Carolina, last year with plans to open a shop there, though it’s unclear if this remains part of their plans after moving to Landrum.

Rhema’s menu boasts a variety of classic soul food dishes, including chopped pork and beef brisket sandwiches, beer-battered fish, fried shrimp, buffalo chicken fries, barbecue, St. Louis-style ribs, and banana pudding cheesecake, all expertly prepared by Chef Via.

While preparing their new brick-and-mortar location, the Childs have been popping up at various spots throughout Landrum with their food truck.
