CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – An excessive heat warning and heat advisory has been issued for parts of the Lowcountry on Monday.

Storm Team 2 says the excessive heat warning is issued for Charleston, Berkeley, and Colleton Counties.

“That’s the area today where we think we’re going to see heat index values as high as 115, farther inland we have a heat advisory there were looking at 108-112,” said Meteorologist Josh Marthers.

Marthers adds that Monday’s highs will be near 100 degrees inland and 90 degrees near the coast.

“From noon to 6, this is the time period where it will feel like 108-115,” said Marthers.

According to Storm Team 2, between noon and 6 p.m., there is a 30% probability of showers.
