Morning traffic delayed at Institute due to I-64 crash

UPDATE: (1:30 p.m. Monday, June 24) – Drivers coming toward Charleston on I-64 Monday morning may have hit a snag in their morning commute.

A multi-vehicle crash shut down the eastbound lanes of I-64 at the Institute Hill. According to Kanawha County dispatchers, no one was injured in the crash, but debris was scattered across the interstate, causing some damage to cars.

The lanes were temporarily closed while crews worked to clear the roadway. All lanes reopened by 10:30 a.m.

KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — The eastbound lanes of I-64 at the Institute exit are delayed due to an accident in the roadway.

Kanawha County dispatch says crews are working to get debris off the interstate. Drivers should expect a delay in their morning commute.
