Initially, showers and storms from the west will weaken as they move towards the area.

Tonight, most areas will stay dry, but overnight into early Wednesday morning, more showers and storms are expected.

Wednesday will be warmer than usual, with additional rounds of showers and storms expected in the afternoon and evening as a cold front moves closer.

Those storms could be strong to severe with damaging wind, 1” hail, and heavy rain being the main threats.

Areas south of Beckley are currently under a Marginal Risk for severe weather Wednesday while the rest of the state is under a Slight Risk.

Temperatures will return to normal on Thursday after the front passes.

Friday is expected to be mostly dry, but there’s another system approaching for the weekend, bringing another chance of showers and thunderstorms.
