McConnellsburg woman charged with driving on 6x+ suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident
26 July 2024- A woman with over half a dozen drivers license suspensions is now facing more charges after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident this month in Mercersburg. Betty A Smith of McConnellsburg has been charged with misdemeanor accidents involving damage as well as citations for driving on a suspended or revoked license for the sixth and subsequent offense, driving without a license, driving with a suspended vehicle registration, and failure to signal. She’s awaiting her next court date scheduled for September 10th.

Accidents on 81 in Chambersburg, 70 in Hagerstown bring traffic to a crawl
26 July 2024- Multiple accidents in the tristate area are completely bottlenecking and stopping traffic this afternoon. Pennsylvania State Police, Franklin Fire Company, Chambersburg EMS, and multiple fire police companies are in the area of the on/off ramps of I-81NB, mile marker 14 (Wayne Avenue) in Guilford Township just outside of the borough of Chambersburg. Emergency scanners seem to show a motorcycle accident in that area with the left lane closed. Fire police are either currently directing traffic or en route to arrive very soon.

Ann Barshinger passed away at 100 years old, and leaves behind a lasting impact on the people she’s served in Central Pennsylvania. Barshinger was known for her big heart and generosity. Over the years, she’s donated millions to hospitals, colleges, churches, and many more organizations. Ann was also instrumental in the opening of Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, part of Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health in 2013. Dr. Randall A. Oyer a founding executive medical director of the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute said cancer never touched her family, but wanted to provide support to the families that we impacted by cancer.

York quickly grabbed a first inning lead as Zander Wiel pounded a two-out, two-run double to the gap in left center as the Revs took advantage of a pair of walks from Cars starter Gunnar Groen (0-4). That included a leadoff walk from Rudy Martin Jr who stole second for his 56th steal of the year, setting a new franchise record for a single season in just his 70th game played.
