The 16th Annual Snowbird Baseball Classic is perfect for the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach area because it offers great weather, world class beaches and a variety of accommodations for the NCAA Division I and III teams tournament. This year the sports event is projected to create an estimated $10 million economic impact to the area when it returns from Feb. 16 to March 13.

Division I and III games are held at Centennial Park, south county, and at CoolToday Park in North Port. During this tournament, you can enjoy more than 30 different teams that will take the field — with many recognizable NCAA Division I Teams such as University of Pittsburgh, Illinois State University, Indiana State University, Michigan State, University of Main and Marshall University. You can view the full schedule with participating teams and venues at snowbirdbaseball.com/2024-schedule.

Because our friends up north are in the midst of a long cold winter, many families of players will make their way to sunny Florida to cheer for their kids and enjoy all that Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach has to offer.

Tuesdays during the Snowbird Classic is “Local Residents Day,” where complimentary admission is offered to locals who provide an ID with a local address. Wednesdays, all military and veterans will get in free with a current military ID. Children under 18 receive free entry on all days.

Visiting fans do have to purchase tickets to the games, which start at $12 for admission, but parking is free. If fans are unable to attend games, you can visit Stream Snowbird Baseball – FloBaseball ( www.flobaseball.tv/signup?redirect=%2Flive%2F91995 ) to catch all the action and archived footage of the Snowbird Classic Baseball.

“We are thrilled to welcome returning and new NCAA Division I & III College Baseball teams and fans for another exciting couple months of high-level college baseball,” says Sean Walter, Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach’s business development director – sales/sports. “Come cheer on your favorite college team or alma mater while enjoying our Florida sunshine, beaches, attractions, preserves and other outdoor amenities. After all, we are known for our best side being outside.” ¦
