The Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be a dropoff location to collect brand-new tennis shoes for children in the Charlotte County public schools.

It is an honor to partner with Port Charlotte Sunrise Kiwanis Club for their annual Shoes for Kids Project. The goal for the 2024-2025 school year is to collect 4,000 pairs of new tennis shoes for students in pre-K, elementary, middle and high school.

We’ll be collecting shoes from now until July 26. Whether it is one pair of new shoes or a bagful, no donation is too little or too great.

As a community, we CAN make a difference in the lives of the kids in our school system. I have heard so many stories of children not only needing shoes but being walked to a school closet to get a brand-new pair of tennis shoes that are actually the correct size vs. wearing shoes too small and many times that are taped up.

Getting a brand-new pair of shoes can make the difference in the students’ lives, being more confident and more adaptable in their educational success.

For more information on the Shoes for Kids Project or make a monetary donation, visit shoesforkidsproject.org or call 941-336-2411.

All monetary donations are to be payable to Kiwanis Club of Port Charlotte Sunrise Foundation Inc. We greatly appreciate all that you are able to help and hope to see you soon at our office.
