It’s time to celebrate the most patriotic day of the year: the Fourth of July.
From fireworks shows to parties and parades, there are several events to celebrate the holiday in the Queen City all week long, before and after Independence Day.
So let freedom ring and get ready for fireworks! Here’s a list of events where you can celebrate the Fourth of July around Charlotte:
Date: July 2
Time: 5 p.m.
Location: Charlotte Motor Speedway, 5555 Concord Pkwy S, Concord, NC 28027
Cost: Adult tickets are $15; kids 12 and under get in free. First responders and military get in free with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
The event will showcase NASCAR racing’s future stars, who will battle in Legend Cars and Bandoleros on the frontstretch quarter-mile. A fireworks display will follow the race.

Time: 6-10 p.m.
Location: Rudisill Stadium, 401 E. 1st St, Cherryville, NC 28021
Cost: Free
The event will feature performances from The Swingin’ Medallions and DJ Johnny B, food and a fireworks display at the end of the night.

Location: Lowe’s YMCA, 170 Joe Knox Ave., Mooresville, NC 28117
Cost: Free
The celebration includes a field of more than 800 American flags, live music from N-Spire, food trucks and fireworks. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to get a good view of the show. For the safety of guests, grills, pets, sparklers and outside fireworks are not permitted.

Cost: Free
Head to Fort Mill to celebrate the Fourth with food trucks, fireworks, roving entertainment and children’s activities. Pets and outside food are not allowed, but water can be brought into the event.

Location: Statesville Soccer Complex, 2012 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625
Cost: Free
Guests are encouraged to arrive early to get a good view of the fireworks show, hosted by the City of Statesville. Viewing locations include the soccer complex, Signal Hill Mall and King of the Sea Restaurant.

Time: 4-10 p.m. on July 3, and 9 a.m.-11 p.m. on July 4
Location: Harrisburg Park, 191 Sims Pkwy, Harrisburg, NC 28075
Cost: Free, but there are fees for rides
Two days of fun with a fireworks show each night, nearly 30 amusements, food vendors and live music. Shuttles will be provided between 5 p.m.-midnight each night. Parking will be available at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Z-Max Boulevard, 600 Racing and Harris Depot Park.

Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m. on July 3; and 8 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on July 4
Location: U.S. National Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28214
Celebrate Independence Day at the Whitewater Center’s two-day holiday event. The free outdoor festival will feature live music, the Tread, White and Blue 5K Trail Race and the chance to go rafting, ziplining and climbing through the evening.

Start with the Fireworks Spectacular in at the Sportsplex on Wednesday, then head to Stumptown Park on the Fourth for food trucks, beer, live music, activities for children and patriotic fun. No pets or outside alcohol are allowed at either event.

Take in the views of a fireworks show from where the Carolinas come together at Carowinds’ Star-Spangled Nights Fireworks Spectacular. On Wednesday and Thursday night, the amusement park will host a special display synchronized with patriotic music.

Head over to Birkdale Village for a special 4th of July block party and bike parade. Enjoy face painting, balloon twisters, magicians and more at the free, family-friendly holiday event.

Head to the annual Stars and Stripes on Main Parade in the heart of downtown Mooresville and witness “sea of red, white and blue” floats and performers to honor our nation’s legacy.

The Town of Waxhaw is hosting its annual Independence Day parade, featuring floats, bands and horses.

Raise a glass and celebrate the holiday all weekend long at Angry Ale’s July 4th Celebration. The bar’s Merica’s Deck Party kicks off Thursday and runs through Saturday with festive cocktails, games, music from DJ Uncle Sam and more.

Merchant & Trade is hosting a special 4th of July party with a lineup of DJs from the Radical Grove Collective all day long. The rooftop bar’s Red, White and Views party will also feature special cocktails, a s’mores station and a photobooth for guests 21 and older.

Ring in Independence Day with a night of baseball and fireworks at the annual SkyShow FireWorks Spectacular. The annual event — one of the largest fireworks displays in the region — will be held at Truist Field after the Charlotte Knights take on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. You can continue the fun at Friday night’s game at Uptown BOOM! with more live music, pregame entertainment and fireworks.
