    36-year-old’s June Uptown death now being classified as a homicide: Police

    CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — The June death of a 36-year-old man is now being classified as a homicide, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police announced Tuesday.

    Officers responded to calls regarding a welfare check at an apartment complex on Friday, June 14, around 2:08 p.m. near 500 North Graham Street.

    Corey Robinson, 36, was located and was pronounced dead at the scene.

    A further investigation has now determined that this death is being ruled a homicide. The police report also indicated that a 2016 Range Rover was seized and a laptop computer was reported stolen. The police report also initially classified the case as a theft from a building.

    There is no mention of a suspect at this time and this remains an active investigation. The welfare check was requested by a relative.

    Charlotte Fire, CSI, Victim Services, and Operations Command were among the departments that responded to the crime scene.
