    South Blvd remains closed in South End after downed power lines

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — South Boulevard is still closed in South End due to communications lines/AT&T lines, Duke Energy officials confirmed with Queen City News.

    Officials said the work on the powerlines that were down was finished overnight.

    According to the N.C. Department of Transportation, the incident involving a tractor-trailer, occurred around 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday on South Blvd in front of the Atherton Mill complex. The area is closed in both directions.

    Duke Energy officials said that 385 customers were without power.

    It is unclear when the scene will fully reopen. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police told drivers to expect significant delays in the area.
