    2 dead in Charlotte murder-suicide, police report confirms

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Two are people dead after a murder-suicide Tuesday evening in north Charlotte, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police report confirms.

    The deadly shooting happened just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, in the 4000 block of John Dale Lane. CMPD officers responded to the call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon.

    Upon arrival, CMPD officers located two people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers said the two individuals, a 63-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man, knew each other.

    Both were pronounced deceased at the scene by Medic.

    This remains an open and active investigation.
