Week’s worth of showers, storms craft comfortable temps across the Carolinas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( PINPOINT WEATHER ) — Good evening and happy Saturday! It has been a hot and stormy day across the Carolinas with more scattered showers and storms continuing this evening. After dissipating overnight more showers and storms will flare up all across the Carolinas on Sunday afternoon helping to keep us cooler.

More wet weather is expected as we head through next week with summer showers and storms thanks to a stalling front.

As for tonight and Sunday, showers and storms this evening will fade as we head into the overnight hours due to the lack of daytime heating after sunset. Temperatures will stay warm with lows likely in the mid-70s.

Sunday will start off similarly with partly cloudy skies in the morning, but as soon as we get to noon, showers and storms will flare up all across the region and continue into the evening hours. Due to the showers and storms, we are expecting cooler temperatures with highs in the upper 80s, but the humidity is not going anywhere.

Heading into next week we are expecting more active weather for the Carolinas along with slightly cooler temperatures. More afternoon showers and storms are expected for Monday, but they shouldn’t be as widespread as Sunday. Tuesday looks drier before we see more afternoon showers and storms for potentially the rest of the week thanks to a stalled front across the eastern third of the country.

In the tropics, we continue to watch Beryl closely as it moves towards the Texas coast. Beryl is expected to regain hurricane strength before making landfall likely just after midnight Monday morning Near Corpus Cristi.

In the meantime, get ready for more wet weather Sunday! Have a great night!
