CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — One of the victims of a random, deadly shooting spree says she’s afraid for her and her family to leave their house.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say every single one of the five shootings is random and none of the victims knew the shooter.

Police are still trying to find the shooter who went on a tear in the city, shooting at drivers, bicyclists, and homes at random.

The announcement of the shooting spree came with a warning from CMPD on Tuesday.

The deputy chief told people that until there’s an arrest, it’s best to stay inside late at night or early in the morning unless absolutely necessary.

There are bullet holes all over, but one came right through the wall where Leticia Sandoval Juarez’s daughter was sleeping.

“A lot of fear, a lot of fear. It’s very worrying. We are lucky to be alive. Everyone is. The four who survived, we were worried that they were killed,” said Sandoval Juarez.

She also woke up to gunshots just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Several rounds whizzed into her room right above her bed.

She says one of those bullets should’ve killed her family, but God protected them.

“Because the bullets that landed in this apartment, one of those bullets should’ve killed one of us. But God is with (protected us).”

Sandoval Juarez and her family were the final victims in what CMPD says was a random shooting spree in Charlotte early Tuesday morning starting with the murder of 58-year-old Mustaffa Muhammad.

CMPD says Muhammad was just riding down Statesville Avenue when a stranger shot into his car, killing him.

$10k Reward Offered: 4 homicides, 5 dead after violent 24 hours in Charlotte

Police say the shooter then traveled around the city, shooting at bicyclists and homes, not caring who they hit, firing bullets for no apparent reason.

“We are just scared. We are terrified, and we hope that this doesn’t happen again. This is dangerous,” said Sandoval Juarez.

The CMPD deputy chief believes all of the shootings from 1:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Tuesday are connected and all of them were random.

CMPD is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone with information about the shootings.
