    Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams.

The Charlotte Hornets are working through a series of sweeping changes.

This is the first offseason of the new ownership group following their $3B purchase , with Jeff Peterson leading the way. They also have a new head coach, having pried Charles Lee away from the Boston Celtics.

However, those front office changes appear to have acted as a catalyst. The players look to be doing their part to turn around the team's fortunes as well, with their strong turnout for Charlotte's Summer League win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.

“It’s special, man,” Grant Williams told Roderick Boone. “We are just trying to support one another, make sure we understand that team is first and team matters and really, really just committed to getting better and improving and making it a premier organization in the league.”

The Hornets have struggled for relevancy for over a decade. With a whole new setup around the team, the franchise has an opportunity to get things back on track. Seeing the players embrace their leadership roles within the franchise is a good first sign. It means everyone is pulling in the right direction and wants to help elevate the team.

Williams comes from a Celtics team that is known for its culture and locker room atmosphere. His presence within the Hornets roster will allow him to help implement a new mindset within the rotation.

Furthermore, his outspoken nature should endear him to a leadership role, especially due to the success he experienced while part of the Celtics rotation.

Charlotte has made some impressive moves in recent months. The franchise's future finally looks bright. The support at Summer League was just another reminder that things are finally changing in North Carolina.
