National media outlet names biggest cut candidate for Carolina Panthers during NFL training camp

With NFL training camps officially getting underway, Pro Football Network pointed out a "cut candidate" for each franchise ahead of the 2024 season.

For the Carolina Panthers, Pro Football Network went with a former second round draft pick -- wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr.

From Pro Football Network : With Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette, and Diontae Johnson now in Carolina’s receiver room, there might not be a spot for Terrace Marshall Jr. The 2021 second-round pick has struggled since entering the NFL and faces a make-or-break camp.

Marshall, a former LSU standout who was selected No. 59 overall by the Panthers in the 2021 NFL Draft, entered the NFL with high expectations after catching 23 touchdowns in his final two seasons in Baton Rouge. But unfortunately for Marshall, he hasn't been able to put it all together as a pro. He showed promised in his second NFL season, catching 28 passes for 490 yards and a touchdown in 2022. Marshall, however, played in just nine games last season, catching 19 passes for 139 yards.

If the former LSU wide receiver is going to stick on the Panthers' roster, he'll need a strong training camp. Otherwise, he'll be looking for a new job.

To Marshall's credit, it looks like he's been putting in the work this offseason as he was spotted in Los Angeles last month working out with Panthers quarterback Bryce Young and rookie wide receiver Xavier Legette.

It looks like Marshall's had a good approach this offseason, but he'll still have to show the front office during training camp that he's worthy of a spot on the 53-man roster.
