The pass rush may not have nearly as many questions as previously thought.

At least Carolina Panthers general manager Dan Morgan thinks so.

The position was thought to be rather lean heading into training camp. Morgan may still be looking for external answers. However, the general manager believes the solution may come from within the roster.

"DJ Johnson,” Morgan said when asked if he believes there are any answers to the questions about their unproven pass rush . "Drafted him last year. He’s a big, physical guy. It’s really up to him to go out there and prove it, just like everybody on the roster. Again, I’m excited to see everybody go out there and compete.”

Carolina's defense in 2023 was adept at limiting yards but could get to the quarterback. It ranked last in sacks with 27.

Keep in mind that was still when Brian Burns and Frankie Luvu played for the Panthers. Those two are long gone.

Now Johnson will have to step up and fill some rather large shoes. The good news is he has help from Jadeveon Clowney, whom the Panthers signed early in the offseason, and D.J. Wonnum, though he is still recovering from an injury.
