Panthers QB Bryce Young Goes Viral For 'First Day of School' Look at Training Camp

Tuesday was the first day that veteran NFL players reported to their respective teams' training camps. Most of the players who got a lot of attention on social media were quarterbacks, including Carolina Panthers' Bryce Young.
Once a video surfaced of Young's arrival at the Panthers camp in Charlotte, North Carolina, those on social media had a field day at the second-year quarterback's expense.
Young is seen arriving wearing a red shirt, black shorts, a pair of sneakers, and a backpack. This isn't anything unusual for a player arriving at training camp or any other event. But pieced together with Young's smaller stature, it went viral.
Immediately, users on the X platform started saying that Young looked like a middle schooler arriving for his first day of the semester, among other things.
Young was the No. 1 overall pick for the Panthers in the 2023 NFL Draft. The team moved up via trade with the Chicago Bears to select him. The Panthers desperately needed a new quarterback after suffering through the likes of Teddy Bridgewater, P.J. Walker, Sam Darnold, and Baker Mayfield.
But Young didn't come without criticism, mainly due to his size. The former Alabama quarterback is just 5-foot-10 and 204 pounds. He and the Arizona Cardinals' Kyler Murray are the two shortest quarterbacks in the NFL.
After just one season, Young has a 2-14 record as a starter. He's thrown for 2,877 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions with a completion percentage of 59.8.
Panthers fans are hoping new head coach Dave Canales, along with some added offensive weapons like wide receiver Diontae Johnson and draft picks Xavier Legette, Jonathon Brooks, and Ja'Tavion Sanders, will help Young in his second season.
