Dan Morgan isn't wasting any time when it comes to adding depth to needed positions.

On Friday, the Carolina Panthers signed four players : Outside linebacker Kemoko Turay, tight end Feleipe Franks, cornerback Kiondre Thomas, and wide receiver Devin Carter.

Adding a linebacker and cornerback brings depth to a position group in which Carolina had far more questions than answers.

Meanwhile, bringing in a tight end and wide receiver ushers in more variables as Bryce Young attempts to get his feet under him in year two .

Turay, a former second-round pick of the Colts, has 12.0 sacks in five seasons. The 29-year-old had a career-best 5.5 sacks for the Colts in 13 games in 2021. He has spent parts of the last two seasons and offseasons with the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons.

Franks, 26, was with the Falcons for the last three seasons. His arrival is a clear necessity as the Panthers continue to deal with Tommy Tremble fighting through a hamstring issue that kept him off the field Thursday.

Thomas, 26, spent the spring in the UFL. Outside of spring ball, he has also played for the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers and Green Bay Packers.

Carter is a rookie. He played at N.C. State and West Virginia.

To make room for the additions, Carolina made a flurry of moves, such as placing veteran wide receiver Cam Sims on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. The franchise also waived safety Clayton Isbell, offensive tackle Christian Duffie, and wide receiver Sam Pinckney.
