July is always a busy time in the high-school recruiting cycle. The transfer portal is closed, most players in the portal have found new homes and most teams are locked in with their rosters for this upcoming season. The summer is a time to build for the future of the program.
RMU, Duquesne Players Shine in U20 European Championships
Two local college players are currently playing basketball in Poland. Robert Morris’ sophomore forward Alvaro Folgueiras is competing at the U20 European Championships in Poland, representing his home country of Spain. He has led the team to a 3-0 record in the group stage competition so far. He has grabbed four rebounds in two of the three games, and scored six, eight, and zero points in the three games. Folgueiras is averaging over 14 minutes per game.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Highs today are in the low 90s and feeling in the mid to upper 90s with extreme humidity. Today is another KDKA First Alert Weather Day where scattered strong to severe storms are possible from noon through late evening. We are under a slight risk for severe weather (2 out of 5). The biggest threats are damaging winds, hail and even one or two tornados. On Wednesday, we will finally get a break from the heat with highs in the low to mid-80s with scattered showers and storms through the afternoon.Thursday's humidity will be lower than what we've had with highs in the low 80s and plenty of sunshine. Western Pennsylvania Telecom Pays $6.5M In Settlement With the Feds
The Armstrong Group of Companies, a third-generation family-owned, Pittsburgh-based telecom, will repay the U.S. Treasury $6.5 million. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that the payback comes after a whistleblower lawsuit was brought against the company in 2008. Allegations show that Armstrong submitted false claims to the FCC’s Universal Service Fund, which provides federal money for broadband expansion in rural or underserved areas.
