MANASSAS, Va. — A casual dining chain best known for its wings recently announced it was closing dozens of its underperforming restaurants across the country. Hooters, an Atlanta-based business, cited "pressure from current market conditions" as the reason it needed to shut down operations at some restaurants. While Hooters didn't specify the exact number of restaurants it was closing, nor release a list, there are 41 Hooters locations now listed as "permanently closed" on Google, and removed from the Hooters website.
Longtime Harford County restaurant's auction canceled
BEL AIR, Md. — The auction of a longtime Bel Air restaurant was canceled Thursday, putting the property back on the market. The Main Street Tower building at 29 S. Main St. was scheduled for an onsite auction Thursday at noon but interested parties failed to bring the required deposit of $100,000, said Dan Billig, a principal at A.J. Billig & Co., which is conducting the sale. The auction was supposed to have an opening bid of $2 million, and prospective buyers are now asked to call for pricing on the auctioneers’ website.
