Stolen vehicle found, armed suspect asleep at the wheel in Southwest Baltimore, police say
BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A stolen vehicle was found with an armed suspect asleep at the wheel Friday night in Southwest Baltimore according to police. Police say at approximately 11:20 p.m., Southwest District officers responded to the 200 block of North Carey Street (rear), regarding a vehicle that had been reported as stolen.
Driver sentenced in fatal Baltimore Beltway crash granted request for home detention
One of the drivers charged in the crash on the Baltimore Beltway last year that killed six construction workers is getting out of prison early. Malachi Brown, 20, will serve the remaining 15 months of his 18 month sentence on home detention. His attorney argued that Brown, who pleaded guilty to negligent vehicular manslaughter, had been employed and attending college at the time of the crash and suffers from anxiety and depression.

A former light rail operator pleaded guilty on Friday to causing the death of a high school football player in 2022. The investigation revealed that the operator of the train, Tavon Smith, 44, did not go around the crossing gates in Linthicum on the morning of Feb 2, 2022. It also showed that Smith only waited several seconds at a light rail station before he proceeded to the intersection where the crash happened.
