Alert Day due to high heat and scattered thunderstorms Wednesday
Meteorologist Ava Marie says it will very hot and humid, with severe storms possible later today. Temps will be in the upper 90's with the heat index in the triple digits. Expect scattered strong thunderstorms this afternoon & evening. Heavy downpours and damaging winds are possible. Temps will begin to cool down starting Thursday with temps in the upper 80's for the rest of the week. Sunday will see temps back in the 90's as more rain is expected to for the start of next week.
Meet Hub City's state champion Intermediate Baseball all-stars
The Hub City Little League Intermediate all-stars will begin play in the East Regional Tournament at Dover, Delaware, on Sunday at 10 a.m. Hub City is one of two teams to receive first-round byes in the 10-team field, which includes the state champions of Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Rhode Island, as well as the host team from the Dover area.
Port of Baltimore expansion project to add $1.5 billion to Maryland GDP
(WBFF) — An upcoming addition to the Port of Baltimore will generate 8000 new jobs and add $1.5 billion to Maryland's GDP, the groups behind the project said today. Tradepoint Atlantic and Terminal Investment Limited released the results of an economic impact study showing that the Sparrows Point Container Terminal is projected to hit those economic benchmarks by 2035.

House fire reported in Edgewood, 1 rescued
EDGEWOOD, MD—Crews responded to a house fire in the Edgewood area on Tuesday morning. The fire was reported at around 8:30 a.m. on July 16 in the 300-block of Canoe Lane. 82-year-old woman scammed out of nearly $1M in Montgomery County 'gold bar scam'
