Chatham police arrested a Vermont man on Tuesday after a motorist said he threatened him with a gun in a road rage incident. Police issued a press release on their Facebook page on July 17.

Police received a call at 4:02 p.m. from a motorist who claimed he and his family had been threatened by a man with a gun after a road rage incident on Route 28.

The driver provided a description of a suspect and a vehicle.

Chatham police found a vehicle matching the description shortly after the call. They stopped the driver and arrested him. A loaded Glock 19 was recovered, according to the press release.

Tracy E. Douse, 42, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, illegal possession of ammunition, and disorderly conduct at an arraignment Wednesday in Orleans District Court. According to the clerk's office, Douse was released on $5,000 bail. He is scheduled for a pre-trial court date on Aug. 15.
