Investigators now say they know who was behind an alleged hate crime in the Northeast Kingdom. Vermont State Police say burglars broke into a home on Caswell Avenue in Derby Line, within about 100 yards of the Canadian border, and painted racial slurs on the walls. The initial report came in shortly after 12:30 Saturday afternoon; precisely when the incident took place is unclear.
