Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, these grants are aimed at supporting Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives across the state.

The PRG grant awards are designed to facilitate the implementation of programs of study that align with emerging technologies in regionally identified high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand occupations or industries.

The funds will also be used to integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) into all CTE classrooms and to increase support for special education students.

Additionally, the PRG grants aim to assist districts in rural areas and sustain high CTE student participation rates.

This year’s grant recipients submitted applications that included action steps to support the department’s state plan, “Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act.”

These action steps ensure alignment with at least one of the focus areas: foundations in elementary and middle grades, careers in emerging areas, and STEM integration in CTE classrooms.
