Smoke visible due to Little Yamsay Fire
CHEMULT, Ore. – Updated on July 3: Smoke is visible today as staff continue to monitor the Little Yamsay Fire. "Fire crews continue to staff the Little Yamsay Fire, implementing the 'Confine and Contain Strategy' to suppress the fire. Exterior containment lines are being patrolled to locate sources of heat, mop them up, and ensure that the perimeter is secure," the South Central Oregon Fire Management Partnership said in a news release. "...Interior pockets of previously unburned materials continue to ignite and consume available fuel. This reduction in fuel loading promotes a more fire resilient landscape."
Summer learning – Grants provide academic, enrichment programs for KCSD students
Mazama High School student Danny Barajas spent Tuesday and Wednesday prepping and painting the school’s softball dugouts.
