Man Pleads Guilty to Striking Biker With Vehicle in Deadly Hit-And-Run in Cherokee
A man accused of being involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Cherokee has pleaded guilty. According to court documents, 30-year-old Casey Herwig has pleaded guilty to one count of Knowingly Leaving The Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, which is a class D felony. Herwig faces a maximum of ten years in prison, along with a fine between one thousand and ten thousand dollars.

Rock Valley, Iowa – A Hawarden man was flown to a Sioux Falls hospital following a single-vehicle crash about 8 miles south of Rock Valley Monday afternoon (July 15th). According to the Iowa State Patrol, the mishap occurred about 1:45 Monday afternoon at the corner of Eagle Avenue and 390th Street.
