The event, attended by Harrah’s Cherokee leadership, dignitaries from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and construction team members, provided an opportunity to celebrate the project’s progress and recognize the collaborative effort of those who have dedicated their time to aid in the project’s development. Those in attendance were also able to sign the final steel beam to leave their mark on the new amenity.

Over the last few weeks there have been several bear and human encounters near the Great Smoky Mountains. These encounters are raising the question, are there any laws that prohibit people from feeding bears in Tennessee.
I’ve Eaten at 100s of Meals in Gatlinburg, These Are the 3 Best and Worst
I’ve lived in the Smoky Mountains for over 30 years, these are the best, and worst, meals I’ve ever had in Gatlinburg, TN. As someone who has been dining in Gatlinburg for more than 30 years, ranking best and worst is somewhat difficult. First, there aren’t THAT many worsts. In honest the floor for Gatlinburg dining to me is OK or average. The number of bad meals is pretty low. But even harder than that is characterizing the best. How do I rank a Pancake Pantry breakfast against a classic seafood dinner at Chesapeake’s? I love the sandwiches at Tennessee Jed’s but can I rank them above a steak at the Peddler? Spoiler warning: I can.

This must be the place: ‘In the woods from far away, from across the fields and pastures, in the cool misty morning air’
Hello from atop the roof of my parents’ 1840 brick farmhouse. Some 20 feet up on the back end of the structure. It’s hot as hell walking across the old roof in the midday sunshine and heat of early summer in the Champlain Valley of Upstate New York.

I also went...
