Shepherd’s Men is inviting the community to join its march from Canton to Woodstock May 27, Memorial Day, to honor those who have died serving their country.

The tribute march will begin at 9 a.m. at Reformation Brewery, 225 Reformation Parkway, Suite 500 in Canton and will conclude between 2 to 2:30 p.m. at Reformation Brewery, 105 Elm St. in downtown Woodstock.

The march, which will span 12 miles, will include carrying a 160-pound barrel to symbolize the weight of sacrifice to honor those who have lost their lives in service to the nation.

Those interested in marching do not need to sign up and can show up before the march at Reformation Brewery in Canton.

“Shepherd’s Men will march if there are a few folks or hundreds…they will honor the fallen either way,” said Sheryl Sellaway with Shepherd’s Men.

Team members will also carry a barrel of Clarity Lager, a new beer launched for Shepherd’s Men, in conjunction with Reformation Brewery and Hop City Beer, in support of their efforts to help heal injured veterans.

All proceeds benefit Shepherd’s Men and its work with SHARE Military Initiative, an Atlanta-based comprehensive program that provides free clinical care to post-9/11 veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress. Shepherd’s Men is a team of active duty, medically retired and honorably discharged servicemen and civilian patriots.

Kevn Kinney of Drivin N Cryin is scheduled to perform after the march from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Reformation Woodstock.
