    Meet the All-South Jersey Baseball Team for the 2024 season

    All-South Jersey

    First Team

    P: Tate DeRias, Gloucester Catholic. The Courier-Post South Jersey Pitcher of the Year, DeRias posted a 0.66 ERA with 91 strikeouts over 53 1/3 innings. The senior had a big impact with the bat as well, hitting .411 with 22 RBIs and eight doubles.

    P: Ryder Garino, Cherry Hill West. Arguably the top arm in South Jersey, the senior notched a 0.39 ERA and 94 strikeouts as the ace of the Lions’ staff. The right-hander, who is a South Carolina commit, allowed just three earned runs this season and went 9-0 on the mound.

    P: Matt Kouser, St. Augustine. The 6-foot-5 senior righty helped pitch the Hermits to a Non-Public A state title win against powerhouse Delbarton, allowing one run in three innings. The senior finished the season with a 0.83 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 50 2/3 innings.

    C: Tommy Popoff, Kingsway. The Dragons’ senior backstop posted team highs in batting average (.452), hits (42) and RBIs (33). Popoff had seven doubles and four home runs for Kingsway, and registered a hit in all but three of his team’s 26 games.

    IF: Jon Young Jr., Cherry Hill West. The Courier-Post South Jersey Player of the Year, Young led the state with 47 RBIs. The Alabama commit hit .458 for the Lions and piled up 21 extra-base hits, including seven home runs for the senior.

    IF: Sam Winsett, Eastern. The senior had a stellar offensive season, leading the Vikings with 39 hits and five triples to go with a team-best .459 average. The senior also shared team-high marks in runs (31), RBIs (29) and home runs (3).

    IF: Guy Lynam, Gloucester Catholic. The sophomore impressed as a sophomore with a team-high 31 RBIs to go with a .393 average. He finished the season with 33 hits, including seven doubles, and 19 runs.

    IF: Logan Dawson, Eastern . Dawson proved to be a reliable two-way player for the Vikings as he hit .364 and tied for the team high in runs (31) and RBIs (29). On the mound, the junior posted a 1.97 ERA with 75 strikeouts in 64 innings pitched.

    OF: Leo Orefice, Cherry Hill West . The Lions’ senior center fielder batted .405 and hit a team-high 12 doubles this season. The senior was second on the team with 35 runs and third with 34 hits. Had double, RBI and run scored in West’s Diamond Classic title win.

    OF: Jake Bartletta, Rancocas Valley. The Red Devils’ junior finished tied for fourth in the state with 48 hits and posted an impressive .471 average. He finished with 15 extra-base hits, eight of them doubles, and a team-best 28 runs.

    OF: Chase Kroberger, Moorestown. The junior showed some serious power this season, homering in nine of his 65 at-bats. The junior led Moorestown with a .415 average while collecting 21 RBIs. His 27 hits and 29 runs were most on the team.

    Util: Landon Mack, Bishop Eustace. The senior put up some big numbers both as a hitter and pitcher this season. He led the team in hits (31), runs (23), RBIs (27) and home runs (9). On the mound, Mack amassed 85 strikeouts over 51 innings with a 0.55 ERA.

    Util: Zach Maxwell, Delsea. The senior hit a team-best .433 with six home runs for the Crusaders. Maxwell's 39 hits and 30 runs were both second best on Delsea, while his 13 stolen bases were a team high.

    Util: Drew Harris, Haddon Heights. The senior put together a huge season for the Garnets, finishing tied for fifth in the state with 46 hits while posting a team-high 27 RBIs and .479 average. The senior was equally impactful on the mound with a 2.25 ERA and 69 strikeouts over 46 2/3 innings.

    Util: Grant Fournier, Cherry Hill West. The junior outfielder had a big offensive year for West, hitting .444 with 28 RBIs. Fournier’s 40 hits were second highest on the team and he finished with seven doubles, a pair of homers and a team-high 12 stolen bases.
