Perryville, Cecil County School of Tech grad bound for US Air Force Academy
PORT DEPOSIT — Yesterday, Trevor David entered the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado as a member of the Class of 2028. A member of the Class of 2023 at Perryville High School and the Cecil County School of Technology where he studied in the Homeland Security program, David has since graduated from the USAFA Preparatory School. That 10-month program, according to the Air Force, prepares young men and women for military service along with Basic Military Training and Air Force life including Culture and Character Training. He was notified May 17 that he had been appointed to the USAF Academy and had until May 20 to make his intentions known. Cadet David will report to the US Air Force Academy June 26.
Newark teen competing in Distinguished Young Woman of America competition
A Newark teen is in the running for Distinguished Young Woman of America. Alicia Chu is one of 50 women competing for over $150,000 in cash scholarships and the opportunity to represent the program as the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2024.
