RICHMOND APARTMENT COMPLEX EXPANSION
A Richmond apartment complex is expanding. Right now, there’s a 60-unit waiting list at Chester Heights Apartments on Chester Boulevard. Three new buildings are planned that will create 78 additional apartment units. As part of that expansion, the city is selling Berryfield Park to the EDC for a dollar. The EDC, in turn, will sell the land back to Chester Heights for $23,000. Those funds will be invested into the playground and other facilities at Middlefork Reservoir.
Brittany Weerts and Ali Jewell attend Freight Farms Training
Brittany Weerts and Ali Jewell traveled to Boston last week for a 2-day intensive training for the new Freight Farm container farms at the Purdue Student Farm. While there, they met with Nathan Liberty – Freight Farm’s growing manager and also a former HLA graduate. Nathan and the rest of the Freight Farms team did an awesome job sharing their knowledge. Tommy Harrison Sr., 34, was sentenced to 57 months in prison and two years of supervised release after pleading guilty to crossing state lines to commit arson.
