Fireball erupts from truck on Route 3 forcing lane closures, evacuations
A truck caught fire and erupted into a fireball Monday morning on Route 3 in Passaic County forcing lane closures and major traffic delays, authorities said. The incident was reported shortly after 9 a.m. near the Grove Street exit in Clifton, according to 511nj.org. Clifton police said they received reports of “multiple explosions” at the scene.
Fire company coin toss turns up wedding ring in Sussex County
FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – A coin toss fundraiser turned up a wedding ring, and the Franklin Fire Department is hoping to get it back to its rightful owner. The fire company, in a post on its Facebook page, said that the wedding ring was found in one of their buckets sometime between Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 in Franklin Borough.
Vape disposal boxes available in Putnam
CARMEL- The Prevention Council of Putnam has initiated a system allowing for the safe disposal of vape products countywide. Despite warnings of the dangers of vaping, the Centers for Disease Control reported recently, e-cigarette monthly unit sales increased by 46.6 percent—from 15.5 million units in January of 2020, to 22.7 million units in December of 2023; prefilled device sales decreased, while disposable device sales increased; and sales of sweet, youth-appealing flavors increased.

Sixty six captive chimpanzees on a small island in Liberia, Africa were abandoned by the New York Blood Center and are now in desperate need of food and water. This group of chimps were captured, breed, and used for research in Vilab II- a facility created by NYBC in partnership with the Liberian Institute for Biomedical Research in the 1970s.
