Hailing from Wyoming, Chancey Williams' journey began in the rodeo arena. His skills as a professional rodeo cowboy set the stage for what would become a remarkable transition to country music. Trading his spurs for a guitar, Williams embarked on a musical journey that has since excited true country fans nationwide.

Williams has had the honor of performing at the iconic Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD), the National Finals Rodeo (NFR), and other big rodeo events. The Frontier Days is one that holds a special place in his heart. The same grounds where he once rode a bronc in the rodeo is now the backdrop for his musical performances, creating a full-circle moment.

As one of only two to ever perform in the rodeo and on the stage at CFD, Williams is following in the footsteps of the great Chris LeDoux. This year, he was spotted on horseback helping in the arena at the Frontier Days. Many rodeo fans were unaware that a country music star was among them.

Williams and his band perform at the Outlaw Saloon nearly every year, and they're set to do so again this year during CFD. However, they've also had the opportunity to take the main stage at Frontier Park on a few occasions. Notably, in 2022, they played in front of country artist Dierks Bentley, and in 2015, they shared the stage with Toby Keith. During that performance, Keith invited Williams to join him for a rendition of "Should’ve Been a Cowboy" while headlining the event. This year, Chancey Williams was chosen for the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame, class of 2024.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle talked to Williams about his rodeo past. Chancey said, 'I was on the road all the time because I grew up rodeoing ... so when I switched over to music and was also on the road all the time, it wasn’t too different from what I was used to. I still miss rodeoing and getting on horses, but I sure love music, so I think it was the right decision ... and you can only rodeo for so long.'

Chancey is also the only singer and songwriter to be endorsed by the western clothing company, Cinch. He has made his mark on major stages, opening for prominent artists like Toby Keith, Cody Johnson, and Parker McCollum.
