(670 The Score) As the Cubs prepare to host the Dodgers in a three-game series at Wrigley Field this weekend, they must have a plan for superstar slugger Shohei Ohtani.

For the Cubs, that likely will mean turning to left-hander Luke Little out of the bullpen in the quest to record key outs against Ohtani and the Dodgers. As one of two southpaws in the bullpen – Drew Smyly being the other – Little expects to get the opportunity to face Ohtani.

Little views that as part of his role as a key left-hander for the Cubs’ bullpen.

“I consider him one of the best hitters in baseball, one of the best left-handed hitters in the game,” Little told the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Thursday. “I think that I can go out there and get any lefty out that I want if I’m on my stuff that day. So, I’m going to be ready – I'm going to be ready to face him and any lefty they have in the lineup.”

The Dodgers also boast left-handed sluggers Freddie Freeman and Max Muncy as part of their potent lineup.

Little, 23, has pitched three scoreless innings this season. He worked the final inning of the Cubs' win over the Rockies on Tuesday, then took the mound as the opener in the team's wild 9-8 win against Colorado on Wednesday. In doing so, he became the first Cubs pitcher since 1955 to finish one game and start the next one.

The Cubs and Dodgers begin their series Friday at 1:20 p.m. from Wrigley Field. The game can be heard on 670 The Score by clicking here or by downloading the Audacy app and searching for 670 The Score.
