(670 The Score ) New Bears receiver Rome Odunze was surprised Friday when he learned a fact about franchise history.

During an appearance on the Parkins & Spiegel Show, Odunze was asked if he knew who the Bears’ all-time leading receiver is. He guessed Brandon Marshall, who checks in at 13th on the list. The hosts then informed Odunze that the Bears’ all-time leading receiver is Johnny Morris, who played for Chicago from 1958-’67.

“How many does he got?” Odunze said.

“He’s got 5,059 yards,” host Danny Parkins said.

“In the career?” Odunze responded quizzically.

    Yes, the hosts confirmed.

“Hey man, well, I’ll hope I’ll go break that record and add a few thousand to that,” Odunze said. “We’ll go get after it. I think we’ve got some offensive power to do some big things over here. Five thousand is the goal then – let’s get after it.”

Odunze later added, "No shame to that record, that's an amazing thing to do. I'm just looking to go make my own mark."

The 6-foot-3, 212-pound Odunze hauled in 92 receptions for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Washington Huskies last season. The Bears selected him at No. 9 overall in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday evening.
