(670 The Score) With new quarterback Caleb Williams in the fold after the Bears selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday, Chicago is dreaming big.

That means envisioning winning championships down the line. With that in mind, the Mully & Haugh crew debated this on the show Tuesday morning: Which Chicago sports team is closest to winning a title?

Host David Haugh doesn’t think it’s the Bears, despite their big offseason and building momentum.

“I don’t that they’re closer than, say the Cubs,” Haugh said. “If the Cubs go out and get a closer at the deadline, they are legitimate World Series contenders this year – this year. That’s baseball. The Diamondbacks played for a World Series last year. Did you see that one coming? No. It’s baseball. There’s variance. There’s all kinds of things that happen in October.”

Even so, Haugh was plenty high on the Bears.

“The Bears, I think within the first three years of Caleb Williams’ career, if things go according to plan, yes, they are in a position to make a run in the NFC, to win the NFC Championship Game,” Haugh said. “If you play in a Super Bowl, you can win a Super Bowl. So I don’t think that’s outrageous. I think the Super Bowl opened over the weekend, a little bit wider.”

Haugh estimated that the Blackhawks, led by 18-year-old star Connor Bedard are “probably three to five years away still.”

Executive producer Dustin Rhoades wanted to give the Bears this distinction, but he also turned back to baseball on the north side of the city.

“It’s probably the Cubs,” he said. “I’m really impressed with what they’ve been able to do with all the injuries they’ve had.”

Host Mike Mulligan made it a clean sweep in the voting.

“I feel like Craig Counsell is going to win a World Series with the Cubs,” Mulligan said.

“I just got to see the Bears play. I’ve got to see what it looks like.”
