The Chicago White Sox returned home for a seven-game homestand after a disastrous 1-5 road trip . The Pale Hose faltered again last night, allowing eight runs to the high-powered offense of the Baltimore Orioles. Thursday's series opener against the O's included a four-run ninth-inning rally but ended on a controversial interference call.

Nevertheless, the four-game series with Baltimore continues Friday and through the weekend. Before the game, the White Sox announced two roster moves involving relievers. Dominic Leone, who recently returned from a two-week stint on the injured list with a sore back, will miss more time with elbow inflammation. Chicago placed him on the 15-day IL retroactive to May 21.

In a corresponding move, the White Sox recalled right-handed reliever Justin Anderson, a 40-man roster member, from Triple-A Charlotte. The call-up is Anderson's third stint with the big league club. His most recent action occurred in the first game of a doubleheader against the Washington Nationals as the 27th man. The righty tossed a scoreless sixth inning in that contest.

Anderson's first call-up happened after Chicago designated reliever Bryan Shaw for assignment. He pitched 2.1 innings over two appearances against the Reds, allowing two earned runs.

Leone received heavy usage from manager Pedro Grifol early in the season and performed poorly over a span of 18 appearances. His 7.04 ERA and his second IL stint don't bode well for his future in Chicago. The severity of this injury is unknown at this time.

For Anderson, this presents an extended stay and an opportunity to prove he belongs in the majors. Leone's seven-plus ERA doesn't present a high bar for the 31-year-old to exceed.
