(670 The Score) Ahead of a much-anticipated season, the Bears will be featured in the national spotlight.

The Bears have been selected to be on the "Hard Knocks" docuseries, which will follow the team's preparations in training camp. The premier episode will be broadcast on Aug. 6 on HBO.

This will mark the Bears' first time being featured in “Hard Knocks,” a spotlight they’d resisted in years past as chairman George McCaskey had been reluctant.

“We are honored to feature such an iconic NFL franchise on ‘Hard Knocks,’” NFL Films senior director and supervising producer Shannon Furman said in a statement. “The Chicago Bears have a talented roster, coaching staff and front office all determined to match the expectations of a hungry fan base. We are thankful to the entire organization for opening their doors to us for what is sure to be an exciting training camp this summer.”

"Hard Knocks" made its debut in 2001, bringing in-depth coverage and behind-the-scenes access to the stories of teams, players, coaches and personnel as captured by the league-owned NFL Films production.

The Bears were tabbed to be the centerpiece of the series following an offseason in which they selected quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Following an 7-10 campaign in 2023, the Bears are entering the new season with the hope of emerging as a contender.

“The 2024 training camp will be big for us in preparation for achieving our season goals, and we look forward to bringing the fans at home along for the journey," Bears general manager Ryan Poles said.

New episodes of "Hard Knocks" will run each Tuesday from Aug. 6 to Sept. 3. The Bears are scheduled to begin training camp in mid-July at their home headquarters of Halas Hall.
