Chicago Sports Network will launch in October as the new home of the Blackhawks, Bulls, White Sox

(670 The Score) The newly created Chicago Sports Network – a regional sports network that will be known as CHSN – will launch in October across multiple platforms as the new home of the Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox, the teams announced Monday.

The new regional sports network will represent a new home for the Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox, whose games had been carried on NBC Sports Chicago for years.

CHSN is a joint venture between the three teams and Standard Media, according to a news release from the organizations. It will reach a viewership footprint that includes “most of Illinois and parts of Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin, pending league approvals,” the news release said.

“CHSN will deliver more than 300 live Blackhawks, Bulls and Sox games annually, along with first-class pre- and postgame coverage and 24/7 multisport programming,” according to the news release.

“CHSN will broadcast from highly visible production studios located in both Chicago’s United Center and Guaranteed Rate Field.

“The network will launch with agreements in place with traditional cable providers, streaming services and be available via free, over-the-air broadcast.”

The president of the new network will be Jason Coyle, who has worked in Chicago-based sports media for more than 20 years, including most recently as president of Stadium.

“We plan to serve our fans on as many platforms and in as many markets as our rights allow,” Coyle said in a statement.

CHSN plans to have more announcements later in the summer regarding distribution agreements.
