With rumors aplenty regarding the end of NBC Sports Chicago, the three teams that currently call that network home needed a new place. Jerry Reinsdorf's investment in sports media company Stadium made it apparent that a future plan was in the works. Now, a name for the new network exists.

According to several reports, the new Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) will debut in October 2024 as the new home for the Chicago Blackhawks , Chicago Bulls , and Chicago White Sox .

NBC Sports Chicago has served as the home for Chicago sports since 2017 . The network was absorbed by NBC Universal when Comcast was purchased. In 2003, Comcast Sports Network was started by Bill Wirtz, Jerry Reinsdorf, and the Tribune Company and served as the home for Chicago sports until the Chicago Cubs left with the start of Marquee Sports Network in 2020.

CHSN is a joint venture between the three teams and Standard Media, a Nashville, Tennessee-based company that's privately held and owns local television stations in Rhode Island, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kentucky. Now, the company will host three of the five major sports teams in Chicago.

More information regarding where the channel will be hosted and so forth is still in the works, but NBC Sports Chicago will be a thing of the past come October as CHSN makes its debut.
